It was great getting him. I'm actually writing up a short story on the hunt in my free time. Nonetheless, We were losing hope of the third day, made it to the top of the mountain and started heading down to set up on a 4x4 2000 yards away. As we were moving to him, we sat and glassed- that's when I spotted this big boy in the sage. Almost invisible he was. After a half hour stare down at 315yards, we moved into position and took a shot. Layed him down with one .270 round
We were self guided on public land, and extremely fortunate to have such a successful hunt.
Congrats!
Since your photo is in a backyard with mountains in the background I take it you have a local connection out there?
Nice bucks especially if you were on a general unit and not limited entry. Looking forward to more details...
