Student brings gun onto campus | The Shield It just got real!
The first comment was sad...
But that teaches self-reliance, that person won't have to depend on the State as muchThe news keeps telling us that colleges are rape factories. The book stores should sell handguns for all these victims to protect themselves.
Lawyers up for what? She was escorted off of campus, not arrested. University policy was followed. Until the law changes what recourse could she possibly have?Hopefully she lawyers up and raises a little stink over this.

If university policy is no firearms allowed, then yeah they can make you leave or have you trespassed. And that will remain the way it is until we get a law here disallowing such policy. Maybe we are imagining "escorting" as two different things here. The way I imagine it happening is they followed the woman back to her car to make sure she left. Maybe you are picturing it as they forcibly made her leave? A simple way to avoid such occurrences would be to conceal the firearm, but lets not go there todayIt's someone's policy that they're allowed to escort me anywhere?
My rights trump policy. They didn't raise a stink about it. Let them leave on their own (to avoid trespassing), don't touch or guide them anywhere.

This is a public university, it should have no say in firearm policy. A private one is a different story.
