    I must have misread, I thought he was saying steel but no jacket.
    Can't believe the core material would make a difference in the wear.

    Are you talking about steel jacketed bullets, or steel case ammo. Steel cases are ok (all though some here will disagree) but can be hard on extractors. I shoot copper washed steel jacketed 7.62x39 out of my AK and SKS with no problem but I would think that it would accelerate barrel wear if used a lot.
