Springfield is awesome

dont know how many of you have delt with springfields customer service.but after a mishap with gunscrub and the finish on my loaded 1911.i called them the lady was very nice and they gave me everything i needed to send it in.the only thing they asked is what happened.so i called today not even 2 weeks after sending it in the lady told me it was refinished and i would probably have it tomorrow or friday.i cant wait to see it.i will post pictures it had an idiot mark from previous owner so i wonder if it is like brand new.so anyone that has a springfield,im pretty sure you gonna get top notch help if you have gun issues.the moral to this story is dont use gun scrub lol.

How did the gun scrub harm the finish?

this model has a black semi gloss like duracoat i guess you would say,finish on the top and bottom, and i guess it weaked it when i went to dry it off it came off with the rag.it was new white t shirt materail so nothing else was on it to mess with the finish.it didnt just happen all at once i kept noticing more and more of that finish coming off then all hell broke loose.

I have a first gen XD, and I noticed the newer models have a nicer "blacker" finish. Mine was fading. I sent it back and asked for the new finish to be put on. They covered everything!

BTW, I love my XD. It is by far my favorite gun to carry and shoot.
