The remnants of Helene are coming. What are you doing out of your normal to prepare? This angle might pick up a few members that do not usually contribute to the "What have you done this week to prep" thread and especially the "Prepping for Urban Survival" thread. 50mph wind gusts and over an inch of rain for many is nothing to take lightly.

    I:
Am ready to make French Toast (with bacon on the side)
Have vehicle & genny fuel tanks full
Have flashlights & candles at the ready
Have all family members whereabouts accounted for
Have plenty food for the doggos
    Flags pulled down

Actually, most of this is for every day. But I was just out mowing the yard as I noticed the wind was picking up and I started running through the checklist in my head.

I've got 2 jump packs charged, a deep cycle battery charged (that with an inverter will power tv and internet). Have gas for the generator if needed. Took my wind chime down, watered my hanging flower baskets (figured the extra weight might help in the wind), and brought a 5 gallon bucket up on the deck so I can fill it in the morning in case it's needed to flush the toilet. Got plenty of food and water on hand, so not too concerned.

Hurry canes seldom go where the forecasters say they will go. I will admit they have gotten much better. I think we may see it depart South Carolina and go back out to sea. That should keep the rain down a bit here.

I did put my garden tomatoes sticks in the fire pit. (I do not compost them cause of the blight) I harvested the last of the green beans and butter beans. I planted some carrots (I know a late start) and put rocks on the cardboard. I have sunflowers to pick still

I need dog food so a trip to the store is in the cards.

Since a burn ban is in place I hope to burn off the dried plants I don't harvest say next week. I will have to mow the lawn again now soon.

I work all weekend so I just grabbed the rain jacket and will have it in the passenger seat all weekend since I work each day.

Hopefully we keep power on while absorbing the much needed rain?

I'm in a low spot for preps. Down to only 15 gallons gas and the freezers are fairly empty. :n00b:

That said, I get made fun of by a lot of my friends for being such a prepper. There's a lot of stuff stowed away around here that has gone all but forgotten about.

Lots and lots of canned meats and such. Dehydrated, fermented and still growing garden yields.

Not to mention, archery season comes in next week and October water temps will bring the pan fish out of the deep water.
