Now, while I can't say with any certainty that the title is exact, it does look like this bill could do that. It's an evil little piece of legislation that does serve to move the US into the area that the UN's Agenda 21 would have us move. It also puts a federal stamp on what should be solely a local issue and gives over basic property rights issues to the fed. This bill should die on the vine, but my fear is that it won't and that it will pass. In the future you could be told that you can't live where you'd like...all in the name of sustainability.

If they deny you the necessary zoning and permits it sure can, no matter how much you protest. They have more guns than you and a willingness to use them.

Why do you assume we aren't willing to use ours, or that death isn't preferable to slavery? Death just means a trip to heaven for my family, after killing as many as we can can in defense of our freedom.

The fact that the bill is progressing to the senate floor says otherwise. If passed it can stop the entire property owning process at the very start, by denying a mortgage. The government, at all levels, already controls the process, it's no great leap to see them doing whatever they wish and if they have to remove a few obstacles to do, they certainly don't mind. Sheriff's deputies do it all the time. Maybe someone will decide to play shoot 'em up. They'll just call in the big guns.

Looks like the usual public/private money bill that lobbiests craft every day in Washington. Laws passed to steer money into the organizations that pay for the laws.

The public will pay directly for new construction and remodeling to comply with green codes along with increased costs for energy. You pay in taxes for the government end which will mint new inspectors and bureaucrats for compliance. The public projects that go with this will come out of tax money paid to the construction groups that support this stuff and pay for the law in the law in the first place. Green consulting firms and lawyers will cash in big time as well.

Just another day of doing business the Washington way.

I still can't understand why anyone can't see that this administration wants to control every aspect of our lives. If the American people don't vote these socialistic, progessive, Constitution-hating people out of office, government of the people, by the people and for the people will cease to exist.

The roots of this particular bill go all the way back to GHW Bush, the current crew is just carrying on the legacy he signed us up for.

Wow, is that what they're trying to do? OMFG! I was going to vote for Obama again next week. Glad you let me know he's a Socialist.

Seriously, welcome. Theree are a lot of people here that recognize not only is this administration controlling, but it is evil. You'll find a lot of like minded people here. And some that aren't. That's what makes it fun.

I think what people are expressing is the fact that our government officials can either shove this bill where the sun doesn't shine, or they can kill us and kiss our dead @$$es. I understand your fear, but I'll put my fear aside and die fighting before I go along with policies like these. And honestly, I couldn't care less if they outgun me. That has no impact on the decisions I will make if the time comes.

No, the fact that it is progressing to the Senate floor says that the legislators think they have more power than they really do because we haven't stopped them from using it yet. It says that they think they can push us as far as they want with little to no consequences because historically they have. And it says that they have forsaken the cause of liberty for their own selfish gain.

If they were up for violent method, they would have already gone there. This incremental-ism nonsense is severely impeding their progress. I'm sure there are a few who secretly wish they could opt for the Tienanmen Square way of doing things, but the vast majority don't want to risk the posh and idyllic lifestyle they've created for themselves at the expense of the average man.

Sponsor: Chris Dodd (D-CT) It figures. Look at that list of co-sponsors. Surprised that POS Lugar isn't on there yet. He loves anything that advances the UN globalist agenda, especially Agenda 21.

Close. We'll simply stop ceasing to exist...peacefully.

As will I. I love the country and I'd die before I let someone put me in a city. I know not what others on INGO may choose, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death.

This incremental-ism is what the progressives excel at. Most changes are small enough visibly so as not too excite the general population. D's & R's both participate in this. Some of the larger programs like ObamaCare and Bushs's Medicaid/Medicare expansion both seem exciting for the party in power to push because it fits their desires. The people who might benefit from these programs are the ones the programs are sold to, while the people who have to pay for it sit idle.

The stuff we don't see much of is being done by the Czars running things behind the scenes. The major issues like ObamaCare, Tax & Cap, etc are the programs made for true believers.

Social engineering began when Margret Sanger was made to be similar to Dolly Madison.
