I recently got married and added on my family (wife and 2 kids) to my insurance. Its pretty standard 80/20 copay insurance, but they hitting me for $250 a week! I'm fairly unsettled about this but it may be the norm. Anyway What are you guys paying for family insurance?
I'm paying through COBRA right now. A little over $1200 a month for family. I'm REALLY looking into Christian Medishare if anybody has any input on that as well.
Health, vision, dental... somewhere around the $350/month mark, I think. Me, wife, and kiddo. My employer pays another $500, though. We have pretty decent insurance, and (thanks to my employer) avoided the "exchange".
My last job I was paying about $350/month with a $3k deductible for the family. Employer offered wellness activities we could complete to earn money in an HSA that covered the deductible.
The job before that I was paying $330/week or $1300/month, but that was with no co-pay and a $400 yearly deductible.
I don't have insurance right now because I lost my full time job. I just got approved for Medicaid for my 3 year old only. I pay $53/ month for that.
I pay a bit over 300 a month for myself and my son. That's with a 5,000 deductible and 7,000 max OOP. I can put up to 7500 pretax into an HSA though. The city lets me put two vacation days worth of salary into my HSA as well which I do.
