Small caliber/frame weapon for wife

Looking for a small caliber (.380, .38, 9mm, .22, ,25, .32) or just small frame weapon for my wife. She has finally given in and agreed to carry one for protection. Had her license for over a year and can handle it well but just now agreeing to carry one. Don't want to spend new price on one that may be in the safe in a month either though. I have tons of stuff to trade in the non-firearms section (generator, new chainsaws, new tool kit, new dremel etc..) If trading, will make someone a heck of a deal. Can purchase outright or trade or combo of. Thanks guys.
