Agreed..... the P220 in .45acp is also very accurate.

It was the first firearm I owned. The trigger pull in DA was too strong for my weak fingers, though, so I sold it and went with the P250 instead. I really enjoyed the weight of the P226, and as rockhopper said, the ergonomics are great - I was comfortable holding it.

My wife is the only other thing that has been with me other that my 25 year old Sig 226. Wife almost 41 years. Great gun. The new 226 E should be better. But own 2 220 Sigs also. About 2 years on these ones.

Well look at my user name, I own about 8 different ones and carry a P239 everyday, it is a great gun to own. Buy it and enjoy it.

Completely right. I really like others but I keep coming back to sig. I'm even looking at a sig rifle.

I carry a 226 everyday, and love it

My wife bought me a P226 Tac-Ops. I'd like to get some flush-mags and standard grips to make it the size of a standard.

I carry Glocks normally, and because of that I still shoot the Sig like crap. It's all over the place. It's me, not the gun as when I shoot from a rest it's tighter than my Glocks. It's a different animal, but I love it and have always wanted one. I may carry it one day, but haven't gotten used to the trigger enough yet. It's a beautiful gun if that's possible.

I wouldn't feel undergunned carrying it, and it's almost the exact same size as my G17 I carry everyday so the size wouldn't matter. For carry maybe look at the 229, as some people aren't comfortable carrying duty sized guns.

If it fits your hand, you'll probably like it a lot. The 226 is a bit big in the grip for me, so I like a different SIG better.

I have had one for 25 years and wouldn't ever part with it. I do shoot my M&P better but the Sig is still awesome.

I will tell you know and affirm that it is an addiction.. I got my second sig within a month of getting my first sig and if I find another one priced right I am looking for a threepeat

I ended up with the sig pro because i thought I was going to look at a 226

The 226 is exceptionally well balanced. For a full sized combat pistol you won't find anything that covers so many bases so well. Accurate, well balanced, nice trigger, dependable, high cap mags, fairly easy follow ups, nite sites, it pretty much has it all. Not that I'm a fanboy or anything... ; )

thanks for the input. im leaning towards the 226 navy, ive been carring a full sized 1911 so wanting something a little smaller for everyday carry. a glock 19 was my second choice.

if you wanted to stay with the 45 you could always go the p220 route.

The only thing that I will warn you against on the glock is the grip angle. you may not like it since you are used to the 1911.
