I have never done or owned anything that required extra paperwork or tax stamps, but I was thinking of doing my first one with my Sig 522 plinker. Maybe it's silly to invest so much into a .22lr, but I love rimfires. Always have, always will & the Sig 522 is a reliable, trouble free platform IMHO and it's looks cool to boot. Eventually I would like to find the pistol barrel and hand guards (I don't think Sig will sell barrels). Maybe I will have to buy a 522 pistol just to get the barrel I want. A sound suppressor would be a great finishing touch.

What do you guys think? I am open to opinions, suggestions, and sources for parts.

I'm getting ready to file my Form 1 to modify a 522 pistol into an SBR as we speak. I've researched quite a bit, and pistol to sbr seems a Lot easier than rifle to sbr. DDLES makes a folding mechanism/AR stock adapter that replaces the receiver plate on the 522. Put on your choice of AR buffer tube and stock and you're good to go!
