I like Shooting Times. One of the ones I will pick up when I do get magazines. To me, eight bucks for a year subscription is a pretty good price.

I get a number of those really low price subscription offers in the mail. Anytime I can get a gun magazine for less than $10 a year I take it. I have at least 4 current gun mags coming to the house and I didn't ppay more than $10 for any of them. I got some them for $16 for two years.

    I say go for it.

Shooting Times is a good magazine, however a few years ago
I began reading "American Handgunner" and I think hands down
it's the best and most informitive gun magazine around.:patriot:

You can get a free digital subscription to American Handgunner, and they have back issues on the site as well

    American Handgunner Digital Edition Subscription

    back issues

    American Handgunner Digital Editions

You can even download PDF versions.

American Handgunner is a good read for free, and I used to get the hardcopy magazine quite a few years ago. It just gets a bit heavy on custom 1911's, but the photography is really good.

Regarding the Shooting Times offer for $8, is it only a mail in or is there a promotional code for subscribing via the internet? I've been looking for a deal on Shooting Times.

I have to say since the internet age I dont buy gun rags. I do find First Freedom and Front Sight excellent reading material when its time to take a dump though.:draw:

Shooting Times is not the same magazine it was 20 years ago, especially after Skeeter Skelton died but it is ok, for 8 bucks it is hard to go wrong. It is more a general magazine than Handgunner with articles about firearms other than the newest hi-cap semi auto or EBR.

I think I'm going to let my Car & Driver prescription lapse in favor of Shooting Times, actually.

I already get G&A, but the few ST's I've borrowed from my father-in-law, I've enjoyed a great deal.

And that's the factor for me, besides prices... If I enjoy it or not.

I have gotten ST for a couple of years now. Like someone else already mentioned, not heavy on 1911's, not that there is anything wrong with 1911's, but I have found each issue to be informative on a variety of issues/guns/magazine feed issues/ammo reloading to ammo velocity and the list can go on and on. 8 bucks is a steal! Don't see how they do it with some of the prices on magazines and newspapers. Subscriptions are still the way to go versus the rack prices. I don't think you will be disappointed.
