I took a colleague and his son to the range today to teach them gun safety and to see which type and size of handgun to purchase when they're ready to do so. We started with a S&W .22 target pistol (virtually no recoil) then moved up to 9mm Sig and then M&P .45ACP. Once they fired each a few times, I pulled out my .44mag and fired a few shots down range. The reaction of the rest of the shooters at the range is the best part....they all stop shooting and everybody's head pulls back and they peek around the range walls to see what is making that horrendous concussion.
