    Someone please help!!!

Bought a new truck gun. It came in the box with all the advertisements on it. It’s buggered up. Called the manufacturer, they sent me a return shipping label, told me to return it via Fed X. Now, if I send it back in the ad. box I’m worried it won’t make it home. I’ve contacted my LGS to find a plain ol box, he didn’t have any. How do you guys deal with this issue. Thanks in advance for advice.

Buy a roll of brown wrapping paper and a roll of 2" clear tape, wrap it like a Christmas gift.
Thought about that using plain brown paper, even X-mas paper. But the outfit named the road and address after themselves. EVERYONE is gonna know.

Have you done it? I’d do it before I mess up another nice wood stock. Just don’t have the nerve I guess. The new gun is a despised by me plastic stock. Even thought about insurance at 5 times the value. Just don’t have any experience with this matter. If you have done it, that’s what I’ll do. ????

It’s a dag gum cheap gun anyway, just something to put in the truck. I’m over run with coyotes and city drop off dogs. They chase the calves and I’ve reached my limits. Already talked to the county.

I’ll ship it off tomorrow, won’t be much loss. And I’m gonna insure the heck out of it.

    Thanks guys.

Many times, at times I will call and get the receiving clerks name and use that as a company name.
I've shipped very expensive firearms and watches through FedEx and the USPS and never had a problem.
Wrap it up, insure it and ship it.

Think about how many very expensive things are shipped everyday in America.
How do 10 to 400,000 dollar watches get to Rolex dealers and to be serviced in NY or Texas?

    Thanks guys.
If the company sent a shipping label then are they not the shipping party? Not sure if you can insure it or even if it would reimburse you if it did get lost since you are not the one footing the bill for shipping/considered the shipping party who would have "contract" with the shipping vendor.

And even if they did somehow end up reimbursing him directly, insurance reimbursement is based on the items documented value, not the amount of insurance paid for so paying for insurance over the actual value is wasting money.

I'd be more worried about the guys across the warehouse than the guy with it in his hands. Wrap it in brown paper and you reduce the visibility from a distance.

Then again, these thieves know what box shapes to look for, so no amount of wrapping is going to protect it. Only masking its shape by putting it in a bigger box. But then its probably getting into tin foil hat territory.
