Sheriff duty gear and uniforms

Just recently found out that I was selected to be a reserve deputy for the county sheriff's department. Because this isn't a paying gig, I thought I would look and see if there was anything second hand but serviceable available out there.

I'm in need of pretty much anything and everything. Don't even really know what exactly I need yet. Pre-basic is in a couple weeks.

Have a Sig P229R that I intend to carry. Wear a size 44R suit jacket, XL shirt (17x34/35), 34-36x32 pants, size 11 shoes.

Do you need brown basket weave or what? Make sure it is approve in your depts SOP's or GO's. Are they ok with you carrying the Sig?

I have a bunch of new nylon duty gear for sale pretty cheap if you can use nylon and not brown basketweave only...

Yes - I got confirmation I could carry the Sig.

I prefer brown basket weave, though I'm not sure what the SOP says. I know other guys had brown basket weave, and I actually have a cuff holder in brown basketweave and cuffs that my dad had when he was on the reserves in the 70s. Maybe a belt too, but I'm pushing maximum capacity on it! So may be looking for a new one.

Thanks for the heads up on Jenkins! I see a trip there in my future.
