i took some in a few weeks ago and got 240 a ton. im not real good on my types of metal but it was old galvanised pipe and old heating radiators. all tool i took in 3 tons and made 720 bucks. not a bad days hauling.
good enough that my father and i are going to cutup some old farm equipment and take it in.
i also took in a trash can full of copper pipe and got 120 bucks but i didn't see what it weighed.
I called the scrap dealer today and they where paying $260 a ton for sheet. That is cars , tin, washers, dryers ect. I sold $6000.00 worth of junk last year off my place. I think i can get two more loads out when things dry up. My loads average about 5000lbs.
All of the yards will take them but they won't all pay the same. I used to take mine to Farnsworth but they started paying less because they have to have someone inspect every case for live primers or being a live round.
I call around before scrapping anything now to get the best price.
