    Unpossible. Guns are not permitted in schools, nor are guns permitted to be carried in Illinois. Due to both of these laws, there is NO way this could have happened.

    I'm wondering how it happened too. This is the school that we took a field trip to, and at that time, they had metal detectors set up at the entrance. But that was shortly after Columbine, so they might have removed them in recent years.

    So maybe Chicago, I mean Springfield needs to make up some more laws to crack down on this.

    From the very little info they've released, sounds like he only fired into the ceiling. My unprofessional opinion, sounds like he might have been one of those kids who constantly got ignored and just snapped. And if thats the case, he at least showed enough restraint to not harm anyone else.
