textbook creeper in a van kidnaps his niece. She was found on remote property by the land owners, who proceed to hold the abductor at gunpoint for authorities.

No, we dont need armed civilians. Cops are everywhere and can protect us all.

Tennessee girl allegedly abducted by uncle found safe by 2 'heroes,' official says | Fox News

    FTA:
Gwyn said her safe return came after two men, Donnie Lawson and Roger Carpenter, were checking property as the TBI had asked people to do, when they found Carlie and her uncle on a trail only accessible by four-wheeler vehicles.

Carpenter, a Baptist minister, held Simpson at gunpoint while Lawson called police, according to Gwyn.

“This is a case of two heroes who went on their property to see if, by chance, if they were there, and they were," he said. "I think this is a clear message to the public that we need your help on these kind of cases.”

    Right here.
Man, I do so love a happy ending.

Sounds to me like the minister and his friend are two very responsible upstanding GG's who believe in the 2nd Amendment. This will make the anti's foam at the mouth like the rabid dogs that they are. :rockwoot:

From the pictures of the kidnapper and the story, he should probably be glad he was detained at gun point instead of...other means.

I'm glad they found the girl. We were in Tennessee last week and this was all over the news, I didn't have a good feeling about the girls safety when details of the creeper were being discussed. Glad I was wrong.

As usually the part about a gun being used to stop a crime will be left out when reported by mainstream.

I wonder if he had a "free candy" sign for that van?

Burn him at the stake. Set a precedent for other would-be-kidnappers/molesters/rapists.

FWIW, looks can be deceiving and stories go deeper than looks. I too am guilty of stereotyping and by no means condone what the man did, but does anybody realize that this is the girls uncle, he used to be girl's custodial/legal guardian, and likely didn't need a free candy sign or anything? As a matter of fact, there was store footage of them going shopping after he removed her from school and she seemed happy and content shopping with him. While indeed, the amber alert stated she was in danger I don't think it was the type of "danger" we typically associate with the abduction of a young girl by an older middle-aged man. Odd situation all around, and I'm glad for a happy ending, but I'm going to withhold the armchair quarterbacking and judgment because there is a lot of "oddities" involved.

    Could be anywhere
The story was posted on the 12th, she was kidnapped on the 4th by an uncle they knew was obsessed with her but still had daily access. The only good thing about this story is the GG's with a gun ended it (or at least sent it to the court system). This seems to be a story of two heroes and a family full of fail.
