Bob Carter, better known to generations of Hoosiers as Sammy Terry, is dead. Indiana has had few true legends.....we now have one less. May this mainstay of my childhood rest in peace.

I can remember when he was on. My mom and dad would always say "Go to bed or we will turn Sammy Terry on." That worked for a while then he was cool. R.I.P

Wow that sucks. We were just talking about him this weekend. One of my valued possessions is a double picture frame autographed by him a few years ago. If i remember correctly his son has been trying to play that role recently. Another Indiana Legend gone.

My Mother and Bob were long time friends. I remember finding out that Bob was indeed Sammy Terry, I was around 7 or 8 years old. Rest in peace Bob, I hope my Mother is ready to see you again.

    RIP Sammy Terry!

I talked with Bob one time at a show my band was playing that had him on as a special guest. I told him he truly scared me ****-less one night as a young kid. I was only 5 or 6 and I was home alone for some reason watching Sammy Terry. To this day, I swear this is what happened. Sammy Terry came up to the camera, pulled out a match, lit it and said, "I'm going to burn your house down"
