Saiga conversion weld-up and ugly importer cover-up, cover-up

I've been converting a 5.45 Saiga, not gonna bore you with another step by step conversion thread. I do however want to show before and after pics of what I hope to be is a successful receiver hole weld-up and cover-up of that god awful import cover-up. I also plan on welding the trigger guard to the mag catch assembly rather than the cheap screw method. I will update in a few days if all goes well. If all doesnt go well.... I will cry.

What did they do to cover the importer mark? My Saiga 12 is old enough I didn't have to mess with it.

They did some type of weird dimpling process on it. Tiny little recessed and raised dimples all over it. It's ugly, for sure.
