What you see is actually legal. There is a Law dating back I beleave to the 1800s stating that the fate of captured pirates is at the mercy of the caption of the rescued ship. I can remember the exact law, but I will keep looking for it.

Yeah, at first glance I was thinking the same thing but then started to think that those are Russian soldiers/sailors so that might be the norm for them.

Sounds cruel but I hope they were handcuffed to their boat and left there. All of those "pirates" should be handled that way.

Priacy has been around since man first set sail and WILL always be around. Just like crime. Even back in the days of the pirates of the caribean, those pirates knew the risk of getting caught by the Bristish crown and still they did it.

I do agree that if the world did begin to use deadly force (ie. kill them on site no prisoners which is legal per international priacy laws) that the level of wanna be priates will drop. You won't get rid of it fully but it will drop.

+1 to Russia for how they handle this.

But why are we suddenly supposed to treat them humanely because they lost. Not even surrendered, but outright were shot and lost the fight.

I don't mean execution exactly (or necessarily), but I hate the "be better than them" perspective. Just no.

We sleep safe at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on our behalf.....or in this case, the Russians.
