So I know pics would make things a little easier but I do not have them at the moment. I have an old Ruger single Six that I inherited from my grandpa. There are a few scratches on it. However, I just noticed one near the front sight that appears to actually be a crack in the barrel. It runs from the front sight to the muzzle and appears to be inside as well. I have run about 200 rounds of .22lr through it already without a problem. It is marked .22 Cal, but I was under the impression that they handled 22lr. Could that have caused the crack? It could also have been that way before I received it.

I doubt the cause could have been firing 22lr out of it. I would contact Ruger as I am certain they would be interested in looking at it.
