Recently had the opportunity to cut a slide for an RMR installation on a Glock for a friend so I thought I would share. It took a bit of playing with the CNC program to get it perfect, but turned out great. No side to side movement or fore/aft, turned out to be a really tight fit.

You do know that Trijicon offers a dovetail mount for rear pistol sights right? About $80 on Amazon. I hope he likes the sight (And I'm sure he will) because that slide is permanently altered now.

Yep fully aware of the dovetail mounts. The dovetail mounts arent nearly as robust as milling into a slide. You have a pretty significant violently moving mass that is being held on by a small dovetail. A cap can be made for the space in the slide to cover the area if the rmr is ever removed. Its a glock slide for pete's sake.....pretty close to being just scrap anyway!!!!:):

Looks good! Just curious but have you ever considered mounting the RMR back further and then milling a new place for the rear site in front of the optic? I just ask because I think that's how I prefer them, but I don't have much experience with them like this one.

Ya thats definitely doable. This was a favor for a friend and he didnt wanna go thru the hassle of changing sights so i just cut the existing sight back a little to clear the rmr. I think i would prefer it with the rear sight in front of the optic as well.
