This is a wait for video for me.

Strike 1 - Believable China OPFOR replaced with North Korea, because China was upset. How exactly does a country with no blue water Navy, nor any real air power to speak of, take half of the US? Not really seeing that happening.

Strike 2 - Some surprise weapon that allows North Korea to take over half the US. (EMP?) They have to capture it? This just seems hokier than the original by far. Sure the original was far fetched, but scope was narrow and somewhat believable.

Strike 3 - I have only seen one movie that was almost completely reshot or digitally altered and improved. Back to the Future. (Eric Stoltz getting replaced by Michael J Fox.)

All of this says wait for the DVD. Just like Total Recall.

My brother and I went to see the first Red Dawn. We thought it was a comedy and laughed the whole way through. I laughed so hard at the end that I was hushed by my fellow movie patrons.

The notion that any nation(s) could occupy the United States of America is so moronic that it defeats any attempt at a movie.

One tag line was something like "an unexpected group" or something. Yet 20 seconds before it showed their father, I assume a ranking officer, and before that he says he's a Marine. Doesn't seem that far fetched that a Marine with a military family would fight for his country.

Furthermore , I agree that the basis of this movie is stupid. Also, this plot line has been played through. Check out the game Homefront.

Eh hem...guys...its called entertainment...not a documentary. Take it for what it is...a chance for another Hollywood action flick with lots of shot 'em up and special effects.

    "For entertainment purposes only"

Probably half the movies out now aren't believable.
With our open borders what's to stop anyone? We've already been infiltrated as it is.

The movie is about insurgents and what drives them. It does not have to be plausible to depict an occupation/insurgency accurately, since history has provided many examples all over the globe. Of course to make you the viewer understand the resolution of the insurgents, they have to make it happen in America, to Americans, otherwise you wouldn't watch it or feel anything.

I don't think it is a stupid movie at all. I think it is one of the best movies.

Seriously? Has no-one ever heard of the suspension of disbelief?

    No.

Now, I'm going home and watching this new documentary I picked up about a war
that happened a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.
It is an accurate historical account.
    Should be very educational.

Looks great. I have been waiting for two years for them to finally release this. This one I will have to see at the theater.

I'm with you, and I never noticed how much "Thor" favored a young Swayze (minus the "business-party" hair).

Just watched the preview. Lots of stuff gets blowed up. That fits my movie watching rules under the category:
**Rule #8: weak plot and actors but lots of stuff gets blowed up.

**All Rule 7,8,&9 qualified movies must be rentals.

    It is what it is.
