I'd say to check out Indy Trading Post for rentals. If you're not too familiar with handguns, you may want to look in to a NRA Basic Pistol class or other similar training.

First choice for me would be Beech Grove Firearms. It's a new range with outstanding facilities and generous air movement to minimize exposure to fumes.

DO NOT go to Don's guns. :noway:

Indy Trading Post is a great place to shoot. Very friendly staff and when I went they had a good selection of rentals. I did go shooting before every gun store sold out of all guns though. I am not sure if they would have sold off the rental stock or not. Don't go if the weather is too hot. They don't have A/C in the range so it's like shooting in an oven. I think the pricing was $8 per 30min.

+1 for ITP.. They have over 40 pistols for rent (VERY reasonable rates) and a very professional and friendly atmosphere.

I've been going to ITP to rent the last couple weeks. Good selection. Friendly. Tend to be very busy so have limited time for detailed help. I'd give them a +1.

Depending on which side of the city you live on I would suggest Highsmith guns in Greenfield.

They range is brand new and great to shoot at.

I have been to a couple ranges around Indy and would say that Highsmith has the advantages of:

    1. more lanes (11)
    2. Very open well lit atmosphere
    3. Better air handling
    4. Very friendly, helpful staff
    5. Great range prices for half or full hours, and all you can shoot memberships
