    Hello
I have heard of a bullet made from aluminum with a rather deep hollow point. Apparently these are made by Aguilla (sp?). Has anyone heard of these? And on a related point, my 230g LRN loads are lubed. But, is this necessary? I ask as 1) Lead is rather soft, it's even used in Babbit bearings. 2) I see where lead through a long gun could cause leading given higher pressures and muzzle velocity, but is lube necessary in a .45? I rarely get to 850 fps muzzle velocity. My loads are 5.8 - 6.3 Unique. Thanks for any info.

I don't think these are Al bullets. I have 2 20rnd boxes And shot several in 40/9mm. Very light wt and fast. They don't make it anymore and have not seen any for over 2 yrs.

Don't know about the Al bullets, but yes you do need to lube the 45's. Even with lube I do get leading (less with certain lubes I have tried). I do try to shoot some FMJ - a mag or so last, seems to remove some of the leading and makes cleaning easire.
