I recently attempted to leave positive rep for user: indy1919a4 . The user pm'd me that there was a problem that I might want to correct with the rep I left. On my end it shows up that I gave him positive rep, but maybe on his end it is showing up as negative rep? Is there a way to fix this? My intention was to leave 5 points of positive rep, not sure what happened. Thanks.

I accidently screwed some up one time. I reported the post where I screwed up the rep and explained what I had intended to do instead. It was fixed shortly.

I get a lot of "positive" "0" rep. Not sure if it is intentional or if it is due to folks not realizing they have t assign points when giving it to someone. I don't care about how much rep I have, notice it is not displayed? I guess I am just wondering if it is intentional or just a mistake. :dunno:

I always just assume that negative reps were a mistake and treat them as positive. :yesway:

Sometimes it's challenging, what with the angry comments and all... ;)

I was stuck only being able to give 0 rep points for a long time. Now I have worked my way up to being able to give 1 rep point. I don't know how long it will be before I will be able to give 2 points.

Got a total of 19 points and it won't allow me to assign any points. Thanks for your help!

I had this problem a week or two ago myself, but almost as soon as I posted in a thread about it, someone somewhere fixed it and I could give rep. Thanks whoever fixed it :yesway: and here's hoping you can fix it for USMC-FF as well.

I joined before all the rep was reset. When I joined I could give rep immediately though it apparently assigned what rep I gave automatically. I hope it gets figured out, all I can give is three so I did what I could and apparently so did others. Hope it gets figured out.

I'm having problems too... Tried leaving rep and it just said I was insolent for trying to give to much... The first time I've tried, am I missing something? Is there a thread to explain how rep system works?

I've had a couple of reps left for me recently that are gray instead of green and my rep score did not change. Does that mean they left zero? I wasn't sure what to think of it as the comments were positive.

Probably were 0. Some folks forget to set them (I've done it before), some may not know to, and as we can see, some can't for some reason.

User Reputation This section contains many settings that dictate how users of your forum are able to affect each other's reputation score.
    • Enable User Reputation system
This is the global switch for the reputation system. If you disable this, users will not be able to rate each other nor will their scores be visible.
    • Default Reputation
This is the reputation score that new users will start out with.
    • Number of Reputation Levels to Display
When a user enters their User CP, they will see a list of their most recent reputation ratings. This affects how many of the latest ratings to display.
    • Administrator's Reputation Power
If you wish to have administrator's wield a certain reputation power independent of their calculated score, enter it here. Otherwise, set this to 0 and they will use the same calculations as everyone else.
    • Register Date Factor
The number of reputation points that a user is able to give or take is dependant on several factors, with the length they have been registered as one of them. A user's power is first initialized at 1 and then this factor and the factors that follow are used to increase it. For example if you set this to 365, every 365 days that the user has been a member of your forum, they would gain one point. So if they have been a member for five years, they would gain 5 points of power for a total of 6.
    • Post Count Factor
The amount of posts that a user has can also affect their reputation power. Set this to number of posts that you want to award one point for. For example, set this to 50 and for a user with 500 posts, they would gain 10 points of power.
    • Reputation Point Factor
The users current reputation score can also affect their reputation power. Set this to 100 and a user with a reputation of 1000 would gain 10 points of reputation power. If you set any of the power factors to 0, that will effectively remove that factor from having an effect on the user's reputation power.
    • Minimum Post Count
If the reputation system is enabled, anyone will be able to rate a post but only users with a post count above the level you set here will be able to actually give points or take points from another user.
    • Minimum Reputation Count
As with the post count above, a user must have a reputation above this level to be able to give or take points from another user's score.
    • Daily Reputation Clicks Limit
This sets how many unique members that a forum user will be able to rate in any 24 hour period. Administrators can rate as many people as they wish.
    • Reputation User Spread
This setting dictates how many unique members that a user must rate before they are able to rate the same member twice. The goal of this setting is to stop a member from either artificially bumping or dropping a user by repeatedly rating their posts.

This is how the system works. As to what the Admin has the options set to is his/her business. I have the ability to give +1 rep now. I have less than 200 rep points at this time. I was a member for a year back in December so I am guessing that was the point I was awarded the power to give the +1 rep. Then again I could be wrong. Post count and the rep that you have been given could all be factors to the amount of rep that you can give/take.
