A buddy asked if I wanted to camp at Pride's Creek, and when I went looking for info, I noticed that there's supposed to be a range there.

So, tell me about it. Should I take a few rifles and a few K of ammo, or just the normal camping / hiking / sunday go-to-meetin' load-out?

I'm from Pike County. I live in Evansville currently for college. We always shoot at the range located in Arthur, just outside of Winslow. From Prides Creek, its maybe a 15-20 min drive. They have a 25, 50, 100, and 200 yd range. The range isn't top notch, but each range has a roof over it and shooting benches. There are no range Nazi's as said above, but occasionally DNR drives by and will give you a big wave. I think they allow most calibers (excluding .50BMG) but there is no automatic firing allowed. Not a bad place to spend a few hours IMHO. If you want directions from prides creek, pm me and I will get them to you.
