Alright, today I went to try out my new 300 blackout pistol with some reloads I've made. The upper is 10.5" with omega rail. The loads are 15.8 gr of h110 behind a 150gr hornady fmj. They cycled great, but when shooting, I kept getting hit in the face with powder. Any suggestions as to why? Hornady says max load is 15.9 but people have said they've used 19 with no problem.

    1) You should be working up to that load, unless it is one of the 296/H110 loads where you can't load down.
    2) Hit with unburned powder or residual material from burning powder? A lot of "stuff" gets blown out.
    3) You may need more crimp, if you can roll crimp.
    4) Does this happen all the time or just this load?
    5) I don't care for 296/H110, but that is just me.

near Bedford on a whole lot of land.
H110 is not a great powder for complete combustion. I get unburned powder in 300BLK (especially in a short barrel) and .458socom when I use it. The only reason I am still using it is that I am working my way through 20lbs of it I got free and it is cheap plinking.

I like lil gun....its been awesome for everything from 125grain to 230g in 300blk. I started using lil gun...I have never tried h110. Just sell me your upper for 300 and the splattered powder issue will be over!
