    Facebook?

The military will probably take to Snapchat. Do the interview in 8 second increments. THAT is talent.

The FB page is actually CNN Turkey, as far as I can tell. The reporter is holding up her phone to the cameras and has a mic on it so people can hear him. Guess the military hasn't gotten to them yet or they're letting Erdogan have his say. Weird thing is that in the Turkey region the internet presence for social media (FB, et al) is being restricted and Erdogan is the one with the ability to do that, so this feed is weird.

CNN Turkey is reporting Turkish President Erdoğan says there was no attempt against him, he will join public in Istanbul or Ankara.

    Real, or propaganda?

Edit: Tanks opening fire around Turkish parliament building while Erdogan claims nothing is happening

The Turks have Persian influence, but then they have a lot of other influences. Again one of the "bennies" of being a gateway between regions. Not quite part of one, not quite part of another.

And yes the West draws lines for its convenience. So what.

    The wogs don't like it

Still unclear if this is a full-scale military coup, or a Gulen uprising from a segment of the military.

NBC reporting that President Erdogan's asylum request has been rejected by the Germans, he is thought to be flying to London

"As always, the White House was caught off guard and is holding a "snap meeting," presumably to determine which YouTube video is responsible for all of this chaos."

Erdogan reportedly utilizing the mosques to call out Muslims to clog the streets against the coup

Also a pretty big propaganda war underway.

White House was apparently caught off guard by this, holding a "snap meeting" now

Isn't that kinda the point of a coup? If the president of Turkey was surprised by this, then why would they head of state of a nation three thousand miles away not be?
