Piston ARs and 22 conversion kits

A friend/coworker got a Ruger SR556 and wants to know if the .22 bolt carrier swap kits such as the CMMG will work with it. Anybody know?

i dont have a piston upper, but i have a stainless cmmg kit. the converion bolt doesnt touch the gas tube. but i have no idea if it will touch the piston rod. try looking at AR15.Com . they might have something there.
