My first 10mm.... So I have a few questions...

This is a nice 1076 but not the FBI model....
Is there a way to remove the mag release safety?
What is my best source for ammo?
What kind of self defense ammo you guys using?

When I shoot factory ammunition I use Hornady, the 180 grain for defense and the 200 grainers for hog hunting. I also have been using the bvac 10mm from cheaper than dirt as a practice round and it's good stuff. There is a way to take that safety out as my guns has it done but I have no idea how to do it.
    Hope this helps!

Nice gun. I recently picked up the 1066, I'd like to get the 1076 or 1006 next.

I run Silvertips for self defense. I have 180gr hand loads I use for plinking, and I have a 200 gr load I use for my woods load for around the ranch.

I keep Silvertips in my nightstand G20 as well. It's about the closest you can get to a full-power 10mm load without resorting to specialty mail-order places like Swampfox Ammo. Cabela's always seems to have a decent stock of 10mm Silvertips whenever I'm in there.
