When asked where Congress gets the authority to mandate purchasing health insurance--a mandate included in both house and senate versions of the bill--her answer is "Are you serious? Are you serious?"

Her press spokesman later said "You can put this on record. That is not a serious question. That is not a serious question."

CNSNews.com - When Asked Where the Constitution Authorizes Congress to Order Americans To Buy Health Insurance, Pelosi Says: 'Are You Serious?'

Later, they bring up the "Interstate Commerce" clause but, at least with the current supreme court, I doubt that would pass muster. (Once Obama gets a chance to replace one or more of the less liberal judges, all bets are off.)

Progressive don't believe in a static constitution... they can do anything they want - and they teach their children to cheat at Chutes and Ladders and Candyland.

    She's and ignoranus (ignorant ahole)

Do not underestimate the enemy. Her line has become the mantra of every leftist that has been asked that question. They are trying to belittle and marginalize those who believe in the Constitution.

Pelosi is an extremely smart, dangerous, and talented enemy of our nation and Constitution. She knows exactly what it says and what it means. She simply doesn't believe in it.

She is a traitor, leading a number of traitors in Congress. But she is a very capable traitor.

Then she needs a very capable judge and a very capable jailer or, depending if the judge hands down the traditional sentence for treason, a very capable executioner.

Unfortunately, ignoring the Constitution does not, in and of itself, constitute giving aid and comfort to the enemy, so treason is probably not something that can be proven yet, at least not for her, unless Obama can first be shown to be the enemy.

John Roberts is a very capable judge. She has to be impeached first, though, and since she's in charge of the one body that can do so, she is effectively above the law.

    For now.

I would like to make specific note that in this post, I do not advocate harm being done to Ms. Pelosi, other than as a function of the justice system and as the result of due process of law.

    Blessings,
    Bill

I have no desire to see harm come to her (nor do I think anyone else would either). But, I do want to see her relieved of her position of abusive authority.

Is that a hard hyphen or a soft hyphen in anal-retentive:D?

Often depends on the last meal.

Sometimes it is an imperative hyphen requiring every ounce of strength, concentration and will to keep anal and retentive properly conjoined until the situation allows for their orderly separation.

I will not go further into explosive dehyphenation.

I would really like to know the truth into how Nancy "I am a socialist" Pelosi got reelected. I was hoping for her defeat this last election because her electorate was complaining she was voting against them, didn't vote their wishes, and hung "her people" out to dry. Amazing that such a large group that was angry with her would still vote for her.

Her people were angry because she wasn't voting far enough left for them. They are becoming happier.

It's important to remember that Pelosi knows her views don't represent what this country is about, or what most of it's people are about. She has to please a very small number of people, in one of the most far left districts in this nation. So long as she does that, she won't lose her seat. Now, all she has to worry about is the Dems losing the house. But she'll still be in office even if they do.
