    Helene is an interesting storm.

    Couple of things, 966MB is not a record breaker, but that's a strong depression! That's the reason for the rapid build up to hurricane status over open waters.
    Also contributing, the temps on the surface of the Gulf right now however are record breaking for this time of year.
    That's the reason the radius of the storm has widened so much, but it's speed of travel is still a bit of a quandary to the predictors.

    If this thing actually makes it inland to near IN with a low MB center partially intact, that will be another thing for the scientists to head scratch some.

    It's irritating trying to get "science" out of broadcasts these days. It's all about how many millions of people will be affected. How high the damage number predictions are, etc. Touchy, feely crap!
