Encountered someone that didn't know the difference between police and sheriff this morning. I'm certain they have lots of political opinions and vote.

They got way different jurisdiction as far as the laws go......... and Sheriff is a lot more political than police.........

I'm pretty sure they can both arrest for any violation of Indiana Code. As far as day-to-day duties, maybe. Marion County Sheriffs Office is mostly in charge of serving warrants and transporting prisoners, but they can still arrest people.
