My 5 year old just read a complete book to me.

Sure it was Happy birthday Thomas, but it was great.:)

It is nothing short of awe inspiring to watch kids learn. Our daughter is 2 1/2 and goes to 2 year old preschool for 4 hours a week. It is amazing what she learns in that short time.

She counts to 20, knows here ABC's, most of her colors, shapes, you name it. She can even spell her name! (Okay, so it is 3 letters and 2 of which are the same. :D)

I'm right there with you...those are great moments in parenting. I can't wait till she reads her first book to me!

I thought it was "No thanks, Dad, I'll buy this time"?

    Just kidding.... Kind of.

    I don't have kids (yet)...

It's thing like that that make being a parent worth it. I don't know what made me happier, having mine read her first book to me or our first time at the range.

My granddaughter will be 5 on Valentines day. She amazes me! You can look into her eyes and see the wheels turn. At my age, I wish I could learn at 1/10 her speed. I guess there is a lot more for a kid to learn these days, so it's a great thing.

Kids are awesome. Some funny quotes from last week my 6 yr old.

    Me: Jenna whats an Omnivore?

    Jenna: Animals that eat omelets?

Me: Nope you are one though:

Jenna: Animals that spill a lot?

She is always knocking over a milk or dropping food. We cracked up for a while.
