Lines? In the steel on the outside?

Lines or raised rifling? Lines would indicate that the barrel was made using a strip steel welded together process. If so, DO NOT SHOOT IT!

The process is called lap welding

The process for producing barrels made from strips of steel with edges that overlap is called Lap Welding. This is even less reliable that Damascus steel barrels.
