Had some business at my Old National branch, and during a lull in the proceedings I took advantage of my bank's public access computers. I checked my mail, and then entered INGUNOWNERS &c. and got tripped by their filter: "INGUNOWNERS is a site that deals with guns, discussion, violence ... and cannot be seen on this computer terminal..." not exactly that, precisely, but it makes its point. I was O.K. getting on CalGun, Gun Broker, and Pennsylvania gun forums. Anyone else had any trouble with that bank and "guns"??

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion there's such a corporate policy, just that they've told IT "filter it for us" and they've plugged in one of those poorly implemented filters.

Well, I can't say that their filter is incorrect. We do indeed discuss things, including guns and violence. We're probably well known enough to end up on lists that those other sites don't for whatever reason.

maybe there is an employee there who was spending more time on INGO than working?

was there a lane that said sorry closed w/ a clerk there looking at a computer?

Did you try to look up porn? Maybe they're anti-copulation too. That bank probably hates everyone.

Most Hotel and Motel computers in their "office machines room" do the same thing, but the sites are not blocked, if you are on their wyfi with "your" computer.

For some reason, INGO is the only site that gets past our filters at work. :rockwoot:Gunbroker, Blade Forums, even Cheaper Than Dirt , are all blocked.:dunno:
