I probably should be looking up the one I was supposed to bring home first.

The early Mossbergs didn't have them but you could narrow it down to the exact year usually.

What sort of gun are you researching Mom45?

A High Standard Sport King Combo with 2 barrels that are interchangeable. 4-1/2 and a 6-3/4. There were two models made...this appears to be the second with a push button take down for removing the barrel rather than a lever. It also has an extra mag.

I got that other one too...I remember shooting it when I was learning as a kid. I guess I didn't realize it was the same one when he brought it up. That one is in the original box (also in exc condition) and has a grip filler (dad's term), the original cleaning brush and screwdriver but no papers. That one appears to be about 1935 vintage based on the S#. Numbers all match.
