Richard Mack is a retired sheriff from Arizona who took on the Federal Government in a lawsuit and won. He understands that the County Sheriff has the last say about executive actions inside his county; the Federal Government may not operate there without his permission. He now spreads the "Oathkeeper" message in both his speeches and writings. Back in 2009 around a dozen INGO members and I pooled our money in order to donate one of Sheriff Mack's books to all 90+ Indiana County Sheriffs.

This would be a valuable event for any INGO member to attend. :ingo:

    Sheriff Richard Mack

Richard Mack is a powerful and experienced speaker, and a strong advocate of states' rights and individual freedoms. He will be speaking about the County Sheriff Project, the Oath of Office, citizens’ personal freedoms and the importance of the office of Sheriff to defend those freedoms. During Mack's tenure as Sheriff in Graham County, AZ, federal officers informed the sheriffs in the state that they would be required to enforce the so-called "Brady Bill". In 1994, Mack and six other sheriffs from across the country, challenged the constitutionality of the Brady Bill and ultimately, fought it all the way to the United States Supreme Court, where they won a monumental decision for freedom. Three years later, in a landmark 5-4 split decision based on the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, Mack won his case.

Sheriff Mack has been a tireless crusader for the Bill of Rights, working for various groups including Gun Owners of America, the Libertarian Party, the Second Amendment Foundation, presidential candidates Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul, and many others to further individual rights. He has been the guest speaker at numerous events nationally and has worked hard for the rights of Americans everywhere.

Elkhart County Sheriff Brad Rogers is sponsoring the appearance of author, speaker and former Sheriff of Graham County, AZ, Richard Mack to speak. The public is welcome and the event is free. Every Indiana County Sheriff is invited. Please contact your county sheriff and ask him to meet you at this important meeting.

Sheriff Mack asks: "What would you do if you knew you had just one chance to save your family and country from complete and utter destruction? What would you do if you knew there was a lawful and peaceful way to restore the Constitution and its Bill of Rights as the supreme law of the land?

As a former peace officer and county sheriff, if I were to take the stand in court right this minute, and be sworn to tell the truth, I would, without any hesitation or ambiguity, testify to you and every American, that there is a solution, that there is in fact a way to secure liberty, protect ourselves and our families, and once again live in peace and freedom.

The solution is in your hands, it is within your own backyard, it is right in your own county. The solution is state sovereignty and each county acting in accordance with the principles established in the 10th Amendment. It's you working with your county sheriff and locally elected officials to stand up for the Bill of Rights and to stand against the out of control federal government and it agencies.

The bottom line answer is your county sheriff. Ultimately, he is the one who will decide what is and what is not enforced in your county. He has the authority and is oath bound duty to interpose himself on your behalf to protect you from all enemies, both foreign and domestic. He is the people's protector. We can free America now, one county at a time, with the leadership of one county sheriff at a time."

Sheriff Mack is one of America's heroes standing in the gap against federal over reaches and is teaching sheriffs all over the nation how to use their constitutionally mandated positions to protect and defend the people in their counties. Mack is a big proponent of the 10th amendment, on the board of directors for Oath Keepers as well as the CSPOA, and works tirelessly helping local sheriffs stand up against tyranny.

    7:45 – 8:30 Sheriff Richard Mack – Keynote Speaker
Author/speaker and former sheriff Richard Mack has served in a wide variety of roles over the course of his nearly twenty year career in law enforcement, which began in Provo, Utah.

Mack has been a consultant on numerous cases regarding police abuse, brutality, and other misconduct by public officials. He has joined with other members of the law enforcement community to speak out in favor of drug policy reform. A graduate of Brigham Young University, Mack lives with his wife and family in Texas.

During the past two years Sheriff Mack has been a speaker at more than 70 different Tea Party rallies all across the country, ranging all the way from Honolulu to Bangor, Maine. Mack has supported this noble movement, because it is both effective and peaceful.

The social meetup prior to the event was great.
    We were joined by:

:yesway: Michael Badnarik (2004 Libertarian Nominee for President),
:yesway: Jim Wallace (2012 Republican Candidate for Governor of Indiana),
:yesway: Rupert Boneham (2012 Libertarian Candidate for Governor of Indiana),
:yesway: Brad Rogers (Elkhart County Sheriff, recently stood up to the Feds terrorizing his citizens), and
:yesway: Richard Mack (former Sheriff from Arizona, author, Oathkeeper advocate).

Sheriff Mack's presentation was very informative and interesting. He talked about what "woke him up" to the constitution and his oath. He said he never even read the constitution until 3 years on the job as a young trooper. He realized one day that writing meaningless tickets by the gross was not helping his community. He almost quit his job, but then was inspired to reinvest himself in his work and focus on obeying his oath and protecting people's rights. He advanced his career and eventually ran a successful campaign for Sheriff. During his tenure he was approached by BATF agents and given marching orders that he was expected to fulfill in accordance with the Brady Bill. He sued the Federal government on 10th amendment grounds; and had to file an injunction preventing his arrest for technically being in violation of the Brady Bill. He risked a lot and ended up victorious. He now spreads the Oathkeeper message and promotes peaceful civil disobedience.

Several hundred people attended the speech. You guys missed out.
