Man is bleeding and someone is screaming for a towel. How about the chubby guy who was there first takes off his shirt. If you can propel a boat forward with your shirt you can stop some bleeding.

Not all of us have medical training our even taken a first aid course and in times of high stress who knows how we will act.

I would have thought by now, this late in the winter, they'd know how to prevent it.

Do you know where it's frozen?
If you can heat it (lightly) before it gets too bad, you can prevent damage.

No water at their house frozen main water lines

I feel for your parents, as we also had a broken water line and was lucky to be home to shut off the water. Everything works except the kitchen sink and have a three week wait for the new kitchen cabinets to come in. The plumber told my wife he had a customer three time in a row as they didn't open the cabinet doors and let the water drip. Was told by a home builder to shut off the water as the pipes are thawed out to save damage to the lines.

Watch out for a phone call from Publishers Clearing House and they want you to get a $300.00 green dot money pack scratch card. Daughter went to the PCH website and they said this is a scam. Watch out.

Nothing new here. When I was at Ft. Lewis there was a European town built in one of the training areas that we used for training. If I remember correctly, it was based on Remagen and was on a river so that we could practice river crossings in an urban area.
