NWI INGO General Post - Part 8

Well, that was fun. I just hacked through about 5-6" of snowpack and ice in front of two different gates so the NIPSCO(ish) guy can get in to change out the gas meter.

Every snowfall I use the snow blower to clear a path to the back door. That helps the NIPSCO guy read the meter, gives me another way out of the house, and let's me get my garbage out.
I got too tired of trying to fight the garbage can over the snow.

Who is going to go to the Valpo Gun Show this weekend?

I'm 50-50. I went last year during the craze and had a lot of fun talking with folks, but of course didn't buy a thing because of panic prices. Any interest in getting a group together for breakfast and heading over afterwards or something? I'd be game.

I will be there. Not sure which day. Lucky guy, straight shot down Division and your there. Just hate the intersection at Smoke RD.

I just couldn't keep up with it when the snow kept coming every day, and then it got packed down. I finally dug out my garbage cans last week and put them in front of the house. Meter guy is here right now. I'll be glad once this wireless meter is in. Then hopefully I won't have to worry about meter readers leaving the gates open.

But yeah, if nothing else, it's good to have another way out of the house.

Ive never been to the Valpo gun show, Ive been to the CP show a couple of times. How do they compare from those who have attended both?

In KLB's back yard is a bad traffic accident and they need the air ambulance to fly in to the Boone Grove High school for an air lift.

The best one in the area and there will be a large crowd in the morning first thing.

From what I have heard, they do not. The Valpo show is much better.

So I wake up. Forget I'm supposed to go in to work 4 hours early.
Grab my bag, text the guy I'm relieving to say I'll be a couple minutes late, but I'm on the way.
Pull in to the parking lot. Get a text that says, sorry forgot to tell you we don't need you in 4 hours early. Stay at home.
