Here it is... the intro thread...

Name is Nicholas. I've had my license to carry for over a year, and have lurked from time to time, but never registered. I am finally in a spot where I can afford to have a greater peace of mind. Mainly looking for something to have for home protection, and something to carry in my briefcase. I've been looking at glock 21's and xd .45's, and I've been eyeing the bodyguard .380 for the briefcase. And now is the time for research, research, research. I look forward to learning, and getting to know some people here.

Are there any gun classes you all can recommend for a newb such as myself? Preferably something located on the southside. I searched google for gun ranges, and only found a couple. I would like to take classes, and get comfortable before even going to a range, let alone purchasing my first gun.

It looks like US Defense Solutions is right down the street from me, so I may stop by there and see if they can give some information and lead me in the right direction.
