I've got a 10/22 that I've had for probably 25yrs. It's time to start tinkering with the ol' girl a little. I'm wanting to put a new bull barrel on her. Suggestions?

I've never heard of whistle pig or kidd. How are they compared to the green mountain barrels? Price? Performance?

What about the Adams and Bennett barrels? Eabco barrels?

Adams & Bennet barrels have never enjoyed the reputation of many others. For years, Green Mountain has been considered the best bang for the buck over on rimfire central which is THE PLACE to get 10/22 info. Whistle Pig barrels are good but, like TacSol, they're aluminum and very light. Kidd has a good reputation but they're kinda' spendy. I've used a number of GM barrels with very good results.

I think EABCO barrels are made by ER Shaw. I've had good results with Shaw barrels on a 10/22 and a Charger converted to .17 HM2 as well as a couple of Savage centerfires.

    Your mileage may vary. :)

I love my Tac Sol barrel because unlike a bull barrel, it is light. I can hit bullet holes with it at 25 yards off a bench. I take a blank piece of paper, shoot it once, then shoot at that hole.

I can't remember for sure, but I think it might have been an old Keystone laminated stock that I had and took a grinder to modify it slightly more to my liking and then painted it the same high tempertature flat black paint you use on an outdoor grille, after priming the wood. So the stock really wasn't that much money at all.
