need some specs on a gun.

I am looking to get a colt double eagle officer's frame.before i pick up one online i would like to know what they weigh. I understand they also made a lightweight and would also liketo know the weight on this one.So if anybody out therehas one please weigh it in ounces and let me know. thanks internet search didn't help much.

I have a friend with the compact Double Eagle. I'll see if I can track him down and persuade him to weigh it, he works out of town, but I'll try my best.

His is the only one I've ever seen And, I do believe they are a bit of a collector's item.

I also gotta say his is not the most reliable pistol I've ever fired. But.......

I had a Double Eagle Officers and I would agree, not the most reliable.

My friend's is pretty much a jam factory, doubbly so when a bit dirty. LOTS of FTF. I personally would not carry it. He does.

Not saying your experience would mirror his.

Same for mine. I did have a full size in 10mm that was ok.

I do think the Double Eagle is a good looking pistol, especially the compact model, I just don't think it really worked out as an in demand Colt product. That's a shame.

Kind of like their failed poly All American?
