My mom likes her jeep and Rottweilers. Dad likes fitness, and recently just bought a fox karambit, and is in love with it.

I want to get them something good, because they have helped my wife and I out a lot with our adoption process.

Get them a grandchild and they will be happy forever.

Seriously, I'd do a service day for them in some regard and let them know you're saving the $$ for adoption but are giving them your time and effort. I'm guessing that's a guaranteed win.

    You're probably right.

Trip somewhere is always nice. Locations, distances, activities, and time stayed all factors.
Or, take care of something they always seem to want done.

As the parent of a kid who doesn't look like me (and that's a very good thing), the recommendation above is perfect.

Only a parent can understand self sacrifice. And only a grandparent understands from a generation away.

    If you must purchase something...

Get her a car seat for her jeep and get him a jogging stroller.
Go to "once upon a child" for lightly used items.

A coupon book that you and your wife create valid for things like a car wash, a house cleaning, a day spent together, yard work done...whatever chores you are able to do that they may need help with or not like doing. Time spent with your parents means more than anything you can buy.

Coupons could include a hug, some time for them to spend with the new grandchild, etc. Get creative...I bet you can find some good ideas for this sort of thing on Google or pinterest.
