I need some help figuring out what is wrong with my new pistol. It's a used pistol I bought last week, I finally had a chance to fire it last night. I love it except for the fact that spent shells keep getting stuck wile ejecting. Any ideas.
I tried three different types of ammo.

    same thing.

    errrrggggg!

This is the 87 Target "cheetah", that looks like it belongs in a Terminator movie, correct?

If so, you have a match gun with a tight chamber and an extractor tuned for standard velocity target ammo.

What 3 brands did you try? If they weren't Federal Gold Metal, Lapua Midas, Eley Sport or something similar then that may be your problem.

You may also have a burr on your extractor... remove it and examine it under magnification: small imperfections can effect angle of ejection - that's a big deal in a close-top gun like yours.

Does it need a good cleaning? .22 ammo is really dirty and can foul it up pretty quickly if not cleaned. Any idea of how many rounds were through it when you bought it? How many have you put through it? Look at the extractor to see if the tip is cracked/broken. Maybe a weak extractor spring?

My guess is that it just needs a good stripping and cleaning.

    I tried
    1. cci standard vel.
    2. cci low vel.
    3. remington high vel. hollow points

I gave her a good cleaning last night, but probably won't have a chance to shoot her till this weekend sometime.

I had an 87 Target for a while. It liked federal bulk and cci mini-mags a lot. I had a few issues with sub-sonic ammo similar to yours so I would try several more brands of ammo before messing with anything else.

BTW, great gun, i wish I'd kept it.
