i bought this bipod for my remington 700 7mm rem mag rifle. came with a barrel clip, my question is will this damage or scratch the barrel? and is there a rail system that i can install on my stock(i has a quick release rail deal on it)? thanks for the help...

i would not use a pod that mounts to the barrel. it will change your barrel harmonics from shot to shot as the pod will have diffrent pressure on it in each shooting scenerio.

i would defintally get a way to mount it to the stock.

Never a good idea to mount to mount your bipod to the barrel. Harris makes a nice bipod for the money.
