NASA - NASA Calculates a Carbon Budget for the State of California
Key concept:
All that traffic on California's highways? All that CO2 released by all those cars? Absorbed by the natural ecosystem.
Whoda thunk it? Oh, wait a minute. Just everyone who has been skeptical of AGW claims.
Key concept:
Researchers report that in 2004, the state’s natural ecosystems absorbed as much carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as fossil fuel carbons emitted into the atmosphere. They also discovered that during periods of above normal rainfall, ecosystems trapped significant amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in forests and soils.
