Just spent a week on the Emerald Coast, and "**** hole" is not exactly what came to mind. If it wasn't for family, I'd trade my house in Indy for a house in Destin any day of the week.

I didn't spend a whole lot of time worrying about politics while I was down there, though. But did think enough about it that I was quite clear that I wasn't in ****ing California.
friends and family live down there. If it wasn't the humidity, we also would have packed up and gone. Wife and I's professions are sought after and jobs plentiful. No state income tax and no property tax makes its very appealing. CAlling it a leftist ******** like California only shows how ignorant and misinformed he is.He's not going to listen to anything but his own opinions so lets stop feeding him facts. He doesn't want them.

You seem to be supportive of keeping books in elementary school libraries that teach them how to perform oral sex. Why because if that cannot be “banned” you support it.

    Cannot have it both ways…

Go back through this thread and tell me where I’ve said that. Quote it for me, so I can see it. I need to specifically see the post where I said I support an elementary student learning about oral sex…

Where are you simpletons getting the idea that I support any of this ****??? SHOW ME WHERE I’VE SAID ANY OF THIS. You can’t, because I HAVEN’T.

What I HAVE said is that “other books are being banned.” How the **** are you getting the idea that I support the sexualization of children from that statement????????

I’m worried about history books being removed. Several things I’ve seen have shown books about Hitler, Jews, and blacks being removed for being “not on the list.” THAT is what I’m worried about. Remember when everyone was in an uproar about the left and their cancel culture? Looks like both sides may be doing it now. Can’t have kids learning about successful black people who stood up for their rights, or women who have succeeded in the work place now, can we?

Knock this **** off about me saying I support elementary kids learning about being gay, having sex, whatever. I NEVER SAID THAT, NOT ONCE. The next person who misquotes me and cannot definitively back up their statement by SHOWING A QUOTE for what I said gets reported. I’M DONE W/ THIS THREAD.

No one is quoting you, we are telling you the sum of what you are supporting. You are still trying to have it both ways. Stop with the name calling, a clear sign you have nothing to add to this topic.

You either agree with laws being passed that do not allow elementary libraries to have oral sex instructional books or you do not. That simple.

These laws are not banning any books from the public. I somehow doubt you would appreciate a man giving your young daughter a book on oral sex but if we cannot pass these laws that is just what is happening. Links to the disgusting books in elementary libraries have been posted here multiple times.

On a broader point, do you believe all books of all topics should be in elementary school libraries? I do not, adults must protect children, these laws are doing that and were forced on the public by leftist activists in our schools.

No you’re not. Let me show you what’s happening here:

Regular people: “They’re allowing inappropriate material into school libraries. We should stop it.”

    Other regular people: “OK.”

Regular people: “Let’s ban books containing inappropriate material.”

    Other regular people: “OK.”

Someone from the school board of education who’s clearly an idiot: “OMG, there are some scary photos in this book about WWII and the Holocaust, it’s not approved. OMG, there’s some scary stuff in this book about equal rights, it’s not approved. Rinse and repeat.”

Me: “Y’all, they’re forcing the removal of a lot more stuff than they originally said they would!”

    INGO: “YOU SUPPORT PEDOS!!!”

See how idiotic that is? Some of you are reading WAAAAY in between the lines to find things I NEVER said, and then saying I said them. It’s lazy, it’s cheap, and it’s cowardly. Stop it.

You either agree with laws being passed that do not allow elementary libraries to have oral sex instructional books or you do not. That simple.

I do agree with them. I do NOT agree with how they’re being implemented. I fine with the idea in principle, as I’ve said countless times. It how it’s being abused that’s the problem. BOTH SIDES are taking advantage of a sick situation in their own ways. This shouldn’t this difficult to grasp, but here we are…

On a broader point, do you believe all books of all topics should be in elementary school libraries?

I’ve answered this question already. Reading is hard, huh?

To me it is common sense that elementary school libraries materials were monitored for appropriateness until the activists took over, abused the discretion, and forced this action. Go tell them they were wrong and to stop it. Hundreds of examples of this posted on INGO alone. Do you really think there is great momentum to ban books on the holocaust in schools? Some parts of the holocaust, particularly graphic photos are not appropriate for elementary kids IMHO. We are talking elementary school libraries not public libraries, there is a difference to be expected IMHO.

To me, you can't slippery slope arguments stop anything being done. Things are already bad, so something needs done. I want the porn and gay sex crap out of schools as it has no place there. If a couple other books get banned along the way I can live with it. If it gets too bad then other legislation needs to fix what's wrong. That's the way things are supposed to work anyway.

It's also disingenuous to keep calling it a "book ban." They are still available, they have not been removed from adult shelves. You can still buy them, get them at the adult section of a public library etc. They are just being removed from the childrens section and elementary schools for age appropriate viewing.

It's no different than "mass shooting" when it's counting the shooter as a "victim", or "assault pistol". IT's meant to pull heartstrings to illicit a visceral reaction motivated by feelings and emotions and not facts or truth.

I think that you should probably not indiscriminately take the word of the people who are telling you this. I’m not denying that no one is removing books that shouldn’t be removed. But find out who exactly is getting them off the list and what their motivations actually are.

I’m skeptical that it’s right wingers doing it. It’s typically district education boards who have the responsibility of reviewing which books can be approved. These boards are the same district boards that ignored pissed off parents who didn’t want their elementary aged kids to be exposed to sexually explicit material in schools. It’s these same boards allowed those materials in the first place. And now their pissed because they’re not allowed to gaslight kids without consequences.

Like I said elsewhere, 10 years ago I’d have never thought it would be necessary to tell a school board they couldn’t sexualize students. It’s something every decent human being just knows. But here we are. Grown ass men in dresses shoving their junk in kids faces. And we’re the ones demonized for having a problem with it.

Woke blew libertarianism all to ****. It’s a failed idea, because some people really suck and there’s not much one can do.

Just another variation of the same old Democrat shtick that anybody who isn't a Democrat is a "racist" and hates everybody who isn't white. :lmfao:

I'd think people would wise up to this BS, but I guess there's still enough gullible people who still fall for it.

DeSantis mic drops in response to the NAACP nonsense.

"Our view is: we want everybody to succeed regardless of their skin color. We don't divvy up people by race. At the same time, it is worth pointing out that we have in Florida more Black owned businesses than any state in the nation. And we've also had more African Americans lead state agencies under my administration than at any time in Florida history. But with us, you know they're there because of merit, not because we're trying to play identity politics."
