Bought one with some nicks and blueing coming off was cheap so I went for it. Now I'm looking at options on painting I don't think spray paint would hold up or would it? Also thinking about powder coating the barrel and reciever. What's everyone's thoughts?

Well I powder coat myself so I have my supply already. I only gave 40 bucks for the gun so wasn't a big cost. I guess I'm going to break and down and give it a try

I can't imagine painting a firearm. I would try re-blueing (there are kits available). Some people like duracoat or ceracoat but I prefer blueing. The idea of painting a firearm just makes me grimace.

Your firearm, your sense of aesthetics, your choice.
Just offering a personal opinion based on what I think makes a firearm look good.
You might not like the color of paint inside my house and that's ok as well.
